Sheriff Richard I. Mack

Richard Mack has been in law enforcement for 20 years. He started in 1977 as a part time parking cadet for Provo Police Department while he worked his way through college. After graduation, he was hired as a Police Officer at Provo P.D. where he rose to the rank of Detective.

In 1988, Mack moved to Arizona where he ran for Sheriff in his hometown of Graham County. He was elected and served two terms. Sheriff Mack was named Elected Official of the Year (1994) by New Mexico/Arizona Coalition of Counties, received the Firearms Industry’s “Cicero” award, was named Law Enforcement Office of the Year (1995) by the NRA and received the Defender of the Second Amendment award by Gun Owners of America. In 1994, Mack was the first Sheriff in the country to file a lawsuit against the Brady Bill and ultimately won a landmark U.S. supreme Court decision in defense of the Tenth Amendment and State Sovereignty.

Sheriff Mack has co-authored two books and has written numerous articles for newspapers and magazines. He has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, Crossfire, CBS Morning News, Nightline, CNBC, The Donahue Show, and over 200 radio shows.

He now lives in Provo, Utah working as a Preparedness Consultant. Sheriff Mack and his wife, Dawn, have five children.
